A short reminder of what Eid al Adha is
Eid al Kebir is celebrated in commemoration of the strength of the faith of
of Abraham (A.S) who, according to the Koran, accepted to sacrifice his only son
Ishmael (A.S). However, as he takes action, the archangel Gabriel or Jibril A.S. sent by Allah, substitutes the child with a ram. The Muslims then recall this ordeal by sacrificing an animal (sheep, goat, bovine). The meat is divided into three equal parts
between the family, the relatives and especially the poor.
Eid al Adha and Eid Al-Fitr, public holidays in Madagascar
Since 2019, Islamic holidays such as Eid Al Adha, the feast of
sacrifice and Eid Al Fitr celebrated at the end of the month of Ramadan,
benefit from a special holiday. This came about because of the current president of the republic “Andry RAJOELINA”. The Muslims therefore are grateful to him. Certainly, the parents of Muslim families can spend the whole day enjoying their families and relatives.
